The Country:
The pack hunts a large country from the Cuckmere River in the East to
Chichester in the west, with the A272 road acting as the northern
boundary. It is a varied country of downland, coastal plains and
fairly heavily wooded weald which offers varied, challenging and
interesting sport.
 |
The Brighton and Storrington Foot Beagles resulted from an
amalgamation of two local packs back in 1941 when faced with the
problems of the Second World War. A great deal is owed to Sir Francis
Samuelson (who retired in1970) and the Watters family who kept the
pack alive and successful from that date until the early 1990s. Mrs
Watters remains as Hunt President.

In the 1990s the Mastership changed and
Wayne O'Brien arrived as Huntsman. Under their leadership the Hunt has
continued to grow in stature with rich tallies on the hunting field
and many awards from the major hound shows off the field. The Hunt's
objective remains quite simply to be the pride of its followers by
consistently providing success and enjoyment on and off the hunting
field.
We hope you will enjoy a day's sport
with us. |
