Mid-Valley Beagle Club has been in existence for 52 years. We have original members still active in club activities. We have 100 acres of
land, 90 acres fenced. We have two streams entering our grounds and a seasonal underground stream bubbling up through the limestone ledges,
all collecting into one stream exiting our grounds. A lowlands habitat featuring Speckled Alders, Viburnums, and Dogwoods give way to Hawthorn
and Apples trees. Hardwoods of Sugar Maples, Yellow Birch, Red Maples, White
Ash and Poplars provide cooling shade in the hills above the belly land.
Plantation grown White & Norway Spruce speckled with Scotch Pine
provide winter cover. Over two miles of maintained paths crisscross the running
grounds.
Memebership: Mid-Valley has 35 members, most, active Beaglers who field
trial and hunt. Our grounds support both Cotton Tail Rabbits and Varying
Hare. We have successfully established a Hare breeding pen and supplement this
native population with Hare from Canada. Our members have trained hounds on our
grounds and produced some of the best International Field Champion
hounds in the United States this past decade. Member's dogs at stud and litters of
puppies can regularly be found in Better Beagling, betrbeagle@aol.com.
Membership applications are reviewed from January to March on a first
come first serve basis. Membership dues are $75 per year with a $125
membership fee. Trials: Mid-Valley Beagle Club runs AKC sanctioned field trials and all
our members must be in good standing with the AKC.
